LinkedIn Post — Day 26 (1 Day Until Tax Day)
Format: Emergency plan + forward-looking, professional
One day until Tax Day.
If you haven’t filed yet, this is your emergency roadmap.
THE 24-HOUR EMERGENCY PLAN:
Step 1: Assess your situation (10 min)
• Do you have all documents?
• Are receipts organized?
• Do you owe or are you getting a refund?
Step 2: Final document check (30 min)
• SSNs for all filers
• W-2s, 1099s, deduction docs
• Bank info for refund/payment
Step 3: Quick receipt verification (1-2 hours)
• Pull bank and credit card statements
• Highlight business expenses
• Create memos for missing receipts
Step 4: File or extend
• Ready to file? Submit before midnight
• Not ready? File Form 4868 for extension (free, until Oct 15)
Critical: Extension gives you more time to FILE — not more time to PAY. If you owe, pay estimated amount by April 15.
IF YOU’VE FILED:
Set yourself up for next year:
✓ Track expenses throughout the year (BudgetX or similar)
✓ Separate business and personal accounts
✓ Track mileage automatically
✓ Set quarterly tax reminders
Goal: Next year, Tax Day is a 30-minute task — not a crisis.
